The potier cheminot / The potter railroader

C’était l’histoire d’un petit Potier dont les rails se perdent ainsi que son wagon…

ou plutôt celle de la visite d’un endroit bien insolite. Un potier vivant dans la péninsule du Coromandel (Ile du nord de Nouvelle Zélande) decide d’installer sur son terrain des rail avec des petits wagons pour aller chercher l’argile et le bois nécessaire a son activité  Mais voila, la poterie ne se vend pas, le prêt du terrain n’est pas souvent rembourse et le banquier commence a râler (on n’y échappe pas, peut importe le pays). Alors ce brave homme ouvre son terrain au public et emmène les enfants faire un tour de train pour contenter le créancier.

Cela fait maintenant 29 années que le chemin de fer de 2.7 km est ouvert. Escarpé, il parcourt la montagne avec des spirales, des ponts et des tunnels au milieu de la foret primaire et des vers luisants.

This is an unusual visit. A potter living in the Coromandel peninsula (north island of New Zealand) installed a little railway and some carriages in order to get the clay and wood he needed. Unfortunately, the pottery is not selling, the mortgage not paid and the banker is often on his back. So this man decide to open the railway to public and drive the kids around to satisfy the creditor. 





It’s now open since 29 years and the railway is 2.7 kms long. Steep, it’s climbing the mountain with spirals, bridges and tunnels in the middle of the forest and glowing worms.
